Are you curious about meditation but have never tried it? Have you tried it but can't seem to get motivated or find the time to make it into a regular practice? Are you not keen on attending group meditations and would prefer a one-to-one session? Are you feeling overwhelmed with life, stressed and can't ever seem to switch off your mind? Meditation - Mind, Body, Heart and Soul is a 4 part beginners guide to meditation. 

Learning to meditate is one of the best things that you can do for your health and wellbeing on all levels - mind, body, heart and soul. When we learn to meditate, we find an inner stillness that we can access, no matter how hectic life gets. We learn to calm our busy mind, listen to our body, connect with our heart and find a stillness that is always there, ready to help us on our soul's journey. 

The course is in 4 parts - Mind, Body, Heart and Soul and each part can be taken at your own pace, whether this be weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Each part is £40 and lasts for 1 hour. If you are a regular client, you may choose to have this as an add-on after or before your normal treatment or you may choose to learn meditation separately. I can come to you in your own home or you can come to my own 'Sanctuary Home Healing' where I set up a dedicated space in my front room for us to meditate within (pic below).

Meditation room

You will be taught the basics of meditation, mindfulness and stress-relieving techniques that will allow you to become more connected with the present moment. By becoming aware of the present moment, you can begin to realise that you don't have to be controlled by your thoughts, that your body can release and let go of pain and tension, that you can feel more loving kindness and compassion towards yourself and others and that your soul just wants you to find inner stillness and be happy.

In each session, I will set up the massage table with a heated mat and play relaxing music. You can lie down and relax whilst we undertake the session, with the intention of you having a comfortable space, in which you can allow your body to rest, whilst your mind absorbs the information.

I will start by connecting with your energy, using some very relaxing touch around the head and upper shoulders. I will then guide you into a relaxed state, so that you can get a sense of what it feels like to be at some level of calm. If you are particularly stressed, we may spend a little longer at this stage. Whilst you are in this relaxed state, I will then come back up to your head and give a gentle head massage whilst I pass on some information to you about meditation and how it helps the Mind, Body, Heart or Soul, depending on which session we are in. Don't worry if you are asleep at this point, your subconscious will absorb the information on some level! I will then do a guided meditation to allow you to experience what it feels like to meditate.

We finish the session with some gentle reiki to allow you to feel very grounded, rebalanced and fully connected to your experience. You will be given some information to take home and read on each section, if you so wish. I will show you a short breath meditation to use at home and you will be given a little journal, should you wish to record any of your experiences you may have at home after meditation. If you can begin to meditate at home daily, with a simple breath meditation, this will be very beneficial to you.

You do not need to have any experience of meditation to do this course, in fact having an attitude of curiosity is the best place to start from. For those of you, who have meditated, it can also be a wonderful way to help with any kind of healing that you may need to do.

You may also choose to have a 30 minute meditation add-on to your treatment. I will connect with your energy, using relaxing touch around the head and upper shoulders and do a guided meditation to take you into a very deep state of relaxation. The session will end with some gentle reiki to re-balance and ground you. This can be a lovely way of connecting with inner stillness at a deeper level, after you have released any physical or mental tension with your holistic treatment. This costs £20 for 30 minutes and can be added onto any treatment. Some clients may choose to do the 4 part course to gain some knowledge about meditation and then use the 30 minute add-on meditation at a later date, as a refresher or when they feel the need.
